Abstract: This paper reviews advancement and progress in the improvement for imp ortant ornamental characteristics in the last decade through genetic engineering, which include flower color, plant architecture, resistance, florescence，vase life and fragrance. And some suggestions concerning the prospects of application of genetic engineering to flower molecular breeding are put forward.
