Influence of Salicylic Acid Treatments on Postharvest Horticultural Products

Abstract: This paper briefly reviewed the effects of salicylic acid (SA) trea tments on postharvest horticultural products, including the extension of shelf time of fresh cut flowers, the delayed sprouting of onion bulbs, decreased decay of fruits and vegetables, as well as the storage quality and physiological responses of fruits and vegetables to SA treatment. The negative results from the high SA concentration treatment and the problems in SA application are also discussed in the paper.
