Abstract: The Zn distributions in seedlings grown from three wheat lines that had different Zn content in their seeds were studied under Zn sufficient and Zn deficient conditions. Neutron activation analysis method was use to analyze the Zn concentration. Results showed that under Zn deficiem condition the total Zn concentrations of the seedlings were parallel with the Zn concentration in the seeds. The seeds with low Zn transported relatively more Zn to the shoot (81% of the total Zn) than did the seeds with high Zn (54% of the total Zn). There was no effect on Zn concentration in different leaves. Under Zn sufficient condition the total Zn contents in the seedlings of the three lines were similar. Therefore seeds with high Zn content may be more resistant to Zn deficiency.
