Abstract: CP43 and CP47 are two pigmentprotein complexes, which constitute the photosystem II (PSII) core antenna, and play an important role in excitation energy transfer. Lately, many experimental results have proved that CP43 and CP47 participated in oxygen evolving and other processes as well. So, people have been trying to study the structure of CP43 and CP47 by various advanced techniques in order to make clear the mechanism of their different physiological functions. The molecular biological technology let people study the structure and function of protein in integrity, so it is very useful in the study of CP43 and CP47. In this paper, the experimental results obtained from the studies on the structure and function of CP43 and CP47 by directedmuta of genesis the psbB and psbC genes in Synechocystis [WTBZ]sp. PCC 6803 are reviewed and discussed thoroughly. It provides useful data and constructive ideas for further researches.
