A STUDY OF THE CHINESE DRUGS OF UMBELLIFERAE V. CHEMICAL CONSTITUENTS OF THE ROOTS OF HERACLEUM HENRYI WOLFF

Abstract: The dried roots of Heracleum henryi Wolff were cxtracted with ether, and the extract chromatographed over alumina, afforded two known dihydro- pyranocoumarins and two known furanocoumarins which were idcntified as turgeniifolin B(I ), turgeniifolin C (Ⅱ), bergapten (Ⅲ) and byakangelicin (Ⅳ)by mp. IR and PMR spectra. In addition, γ -spinasterol (Ⅴ ) was also separated.
