Six diterpenoid alkaloids of aconitine-tpe were isolated from Huang-cao-wu(Aconitum vilmorrianum Kom.).Three ester-alkaloids of them named yunaconitine(Ⅰ),vilmorrianine A(Ⅱ),Vilmorrianine C(Ⅲ) had been reported (in press). This article reports the chemical structures of two amino-alkaloids:vilmorrianine B and D.The vilmorrianine B has been identifed by m.p.1HMR.13CMR. as karakoline(Ⅳ).

Four alkaloids had been isolated from the roots of Rauwolfia yunnanensis Tsiang. Three of them are identified as reserpine, ajmaline and ajmalicine res-pectively by comparing their physical and chemical properties with those of the authentic samples. It seems that the other remained alkaloid is a new compound which has the formula C22H26O4N2 on the elementary analysis of base and it's hydrochloride salf, [α]D+l06' (CHCl3). It should be decomposed by heating without characteristic meltinq point. According to it's IR spectrum it has indole group, hydroxyI group and αβunsaturafed carboxylic metbyl ester and seems to be a serpentine derivative.

In this paper the isolation and the structure elucidation of tow new diter- pene lactones, hypolide C20H24o3 (1) and tripterolide C20H24o7(V) are repoted. Hypolide was iso1ated from T. hypoglucum (Levl) Hutch. with yield 0.0005%, and from T. regelii Spzagus et Takeda, T. forestii Dicls, T. wilfordii Hook. The elementa1 analysis, UV, IR, MS, NMR spectra data and derivatives of methylation, hydrogenation have indicated it to be diterpene α,β-unsaturated-γ-lactone, and no peresence of epoxide groups, ring-C to be a substittuted arom-atic ring. After methylation with dimethyl sulfate, the ring-C similar to the intermediate product (Ⅶ) of the total synthesis of triptolide.

Gastrodin is a phenol g1ucoside,It was obtained from Gastrodia elata Blume .(Orchidaceae) and synthdized by Chow Jun etc. The authors report on the sedative and anticonvulsant effects oof synthetic gastrodin and its genin as follows. From the above findings, synthetic gastrodin and its genin might be a safe sedative drug used for treatment of neurasthenia mental hyperexicitation, anxiety and inxomnia etc.

Influence of industrial waste water of Kunming Smeltery and Hongwei Paper Mill on chlorophyll a and b,β-carotene, and xanthophyll centents in Hydrilla verticillata L. was studied. The experiments showed that four pigments in different solutions of both waste water diluted are lower than those of the control. Chlorophyll a and b,andβ-carotene contents in the waste water of Kunming smeltery are much lower than those in the waste water of Hongwei Paper Mill, but the response of xanthophyll on both waste water is contrary.

The genus Rhododendron possesses about 850 species ,so it is one of the important componenet of the flora of the North Temperate Zone.In recent era, its center of the distribution lies in Western Szechuan,Northwestern Yunnan,Southeastern Tibet, and though Upper Burma to Eastern Himalaya westwards. In this regions,it possesses not only abundant species and various groups (i.e.Sections and Subsections),but alse the most primitive groups.Basing on these facts,a conclusion could be obtained that the Szechuan-Yunnan Old-land with its adequate surroundings during the geological period ,may be the cradle of the genus. The disjunctive distribution at present of the genus Rhododendron in Europe,Asia and North America probably indicates the close relationship to its center of distribution.
