Abstract: Abstract The present paper deals with the classification on the genus Neobarbella. A key to species is described. This genus consists of 4 species, of which 1 species is new, it occurs only in southeastern Asia. N. pilifera widely distributes in East Asia. N. comes is a Sino-Himalayan species, but extending to Philipoines and Indonesia. N. amoena and N . serraiiacuia are endemic species, the former only distributed in Ceylon, another one in China. The morphological characters of N. pilifera and N. comes seem to be comparatively similar each other their branch-leaves are different from stem-leaves. While in N .amoena and N.serratiacuta, their brach-leaves are similar to stem-leaves. All of the species of the genus Neobarbella, the secondany stems usually hanging, long, pinnately branched. The cells of the central tissue are large and thin-walled.

Key words: Neobarbella pilifera
