Abstract: The present paper deals with the cytogeographic study of 3 species on the genus Remusatia, Araceae. Their karyotypes can be formulated as followings: Remusatia vivipara (from Mt. Cangshan, Yunnan) K(2n) = 3X =42= 42m; R. hookeriana (also from Mt.Cangshan, Yunnan)K( 2 n) = 2X= 28 = 22m (6SAT) + 6sm ( 2 SAT); R. ornata (from Mt. Shizishan, Wuding Xian, Yunnan) K ( 2 n) = 3X = 42 = 36m (3SAT) + 3sm + 3st. In the genus Remusatia, R. vivipara is primitive and R. ornata is evolutional. Remusatia is a minor genus which distributes both in tropical Asia and in tropical West Africa (Came-roon) . In South India (Kerala) the population of R. vivipara is diploid. And we conclude that the origin site of the genus Remusatia is Gondwana Land. The dispersal of the genus Remusatia towards tropical Asia would be related with the Himalayan movement.
