Abstract: In the present paper,the karyotype of Caryopteris paniculata is investigated. The somatic chromosome number is 2n=18 and basic number is x=9, Its karyotype could be formulated as 2n=2x=18=6m+2sm+1st(1SAT).The ratio between longest and shortest chromosone is 3.74. The centromeric terminalization value is 56.7%,belonging to Stebbins's 2B type.
