Abstract: In order to reveal the phylogenetic position of Mastixia,the rbcL sequences of two species of Mastixia(M.pentandra ssp.chinensis and M.euonymoides)and other two possible close affinities Nyssa yunnanensis and Alangium kurzii were sequenced.PAUP analysis was made based on our sequences and some other rbcL sequences of taxa of Cornaceae sensu lato and some families,which Mastixia was ever placed in,from Gene Bank database.
