Abstract: From the roots of Picrorhiza scrophulariiflora Royle ex Benth. a new bitter cucurbitacin glycoside was isolated together with three known iridoidal glycosides, amphicoside (picroside-n ) (3), catalpol (4), aucubin (5), a phenol glycoside, androsin (6) and a known cucurbitacin glycoside (2).
