DISCUSSION UPON THE REGULARITIES OF VEGETATIONAL DISTRIBUTION IN THE HENGDUAN MOUNTAINS

Abstract: The Hengduan Mountains are situated in the south-east margin of Qingzhang Platcau and cover a 400, 000 5quare-kilometre area lying at 25 o-32°N, 96°-102°E. It is known as a peculiar region to the world because of its topography at high altitude with a variation frorn 2000 to 3000 metres in relative altitudes and the closely arranged mountains stretching from south to north where presents a natural landscape involving subtropical, temperate and arctic zones.
