The essential oil (eucalyptus oil) of Eucalyptus globulus Labill from Yunnan province in China was examined by the exercise of capillary GC/MS/DS on Finnigan-4510 type. The physical properties of eucalyptus oil are as follows: n23/D 1.4617, d21/21 0.8973, [α]21/D + 7.18°.As the result 17 compounds were identified. The major compo- nents are 1, 8-cineole (66.42%), α-pinene (27.l8%), and safrole is not contained in the eucalyptus oil from Yunnan province.

The Hengduan Mountains are situated in the south-east margin of Qingzhang Platcau and cover a 400, 000 5quare-kilometre area lying at 25 o-32°N, 96°-102°E. It is known as a peculiar region to the world because of its topography at high altitude with a variation frorn 2000 to 3000 metres in relative altitudes and the closely arranged mountains stretching from south to north where presents a natural landscape involving subtropical, temperate and arctic zones.

The requirements of nutrient condition for vegetative growth stage and generative growth stage of Lentinus edodes are discussed in this paper. On the basal medium supplemented with 6-BA lmg/l and lactalbumin hydro-lysat 0.2%, the rate of growth and dry weight of mycelium were enhanced. The growth of colony on tlie medium supplemented with 6-BA was better than the medium supplemented with β-ecdysone. When the nutrional level of the sawdust spawn was getting lower, by the addition of 2ppm 6-BA and 3% glu-cose, the differentiation of primordia and the formation of fruit-bodies were promoted. With the addition of carbon-nitrogen solution of different ratio at the base of button the fresh weight of mushroom was increased, with nutrient solution of C/N=30:1 the weight of fresh mushrooms was 73% higher than control.

Lathyrus anhuiensis Y.J.Zhu et R. X. Meng, a new perennial species recently found in Anhui Province of southeastern China, has a very rcstricted distribution and limited in number of individuals. A cytological inve- stigation was carried out promptly in order to reveal the karyotypical chara- cteristics of the plant. The number of chromosomes in root-tip cell of the specics was found to bc l4, agreeing with most of the specics of the same genus heretofore reported. In the light of chromosomal terminology defined by Levan and al., the ka- ryotype formula is K (2n) =14=4m+ 2m (SAT) + 8sm. Photomicrographs of the chromosome complement and the idiogram are shown in Figs. 1-2. Mea- surcments in rnicrons of the chromosome sets are given in Table 1.

Anisocapium is a small genus in Athyriaceae. Up to now only two species are known, i. e. Anisocapium sheareri (Bak. ) Ching and A.cu-mingianum Prerl. Anisocapium is mainly distributed in the tropics and subtropics zone in Asia. It reaches as far as the southern part of Gansu province in northwest, the southern part in Korea and Japan in northeast, Java in Indonesia in Southern, Indian peninsula and Srilanka in southwest. The results of these studies may be summarized as follows: Since De Candole separated Genus Corydalis into three subgenera Ca-pnitcs, Capnoides and Leonticoides based upon the forms of the underground organs, there are two different views. Fedde (1936) and Ryberg (1960) did not make any use of subgenera by reason of distinct connections between tube-rous and non-tuberous forms, but Popov (1937) adopted De Candole's views in this respect. He corrected some De Candole's mistakes and conserved Sub-gen. Capnites and Capnoides. Besides the forms of the underground organs he emphasized the characters of cotyledons. Capnites sensu Popoy consisted of the tuherous forms with only l cotyledon in seed, whereas Capnoides provided with taproots, fibrous roots or rhozomes with 2 cotyledons in number. The present authers agree with Popov's classification.
