THE CLASSIFICATION AND DISTRIBUTION OF CHINESE CORYDALIS SECT. ASTEROSTIGMATA

Abstract: Sect. Asterostigmata Fedde is perhaps the most primitive group in genus Corydalis Vent. In this section there are 23 species and 9 varietas and 1 forma all told. They are concentrately distributed in region beyond the south of the Yangtze River of China, where they grow under different kinds of habitat of forest environment below 4000 m, especially in primeval subtropical evergreen bro-ad-leaf forest, a few species extending to East Himalaya, and individual ones even reaching the tropic zone of Southeast Asia on the margin of rain forest. It is divided into 5 series, i. e. ; Ser. 1 . Temulifoliae, Ser. 2 .Schwerinianae, Ser. 3 . Flexuosae, Ser. 4 . Talienses, Ser. 5 . Maireanae.
