Flowers of Buddleia offinalis(Maxim.)have been used as rice dye for festivals by ethnic groups in southern China since ancient time.It has been reported that the plant can be used for treatment of eye problem. Only the isolation of flavonoids from the plant was reported before, but what was the pigment remained  unso-lved.From ethanol extract,we not only isolated apigenin, linarin and D-mannitol,but also determined that the pigment of the plant is crocin by means of spectraldata.

"Ying-Chen" is a famous chinense traditional medicine, which original plant is recorded as Artemisia capillaris Thunb. (Compositae). In the south of China especially Yunnan province, Siphonostegia chinensis Benth., a scrophularious plant, Chinese name as Jin-Zong-Ying-Chen is always used as a substitute of Ying-Chen. Through ancient Chinese medicinal references, this paper describe the utilize history and medicinal value of this plant. In other hand, a chemical study of this plant was carried out. From whole plant of Siphonostegia chinensis, a new iridoidal glucoside together with two known glycosides, 8-epiloganin and acteoside were isolated. The structrue of new compound was elucidated as 10-p-coumaroyl aucubin by means of spectral and chemical methods.

Preliminary identification by TLC and HPLC methods demonstrated that the calli induced from root, hypocotyl, cotyledon and flower bud of Carthamus tinctorius had the capability to synthesize a-tocopherol which has the strongest activity among Vitamin E family. Among these calli, the hypocotyl-callus and its suspension cells were better than others in growth rate and α-tocophcrol content. They reached 0.35, 0.39 gDW/l.d and 0.62, 2.28mg/100gDW respectively. MC medium was rather suitable for the cell growth of the callus which induced from hypocotyl. However, the medium supplemented with 10 CM (Coconut milk) or 0.1% CA(Casamino acid) could obviously raise cell growth rate, reached 0.45% or 0.41%gDW/l.d

Leaf gas exchange, titratable acidity and chlorophyll content were measured in Vanilla planifolia cultivated in artificial shading condition during four different seasons. The relationship between different leaf ages and photosynthetic types and seasonal variations were researched in detail. The mature leaves perform stable Crassulacean Acid Metabolism (CAM), which uptake and rarely release CO2 for most times during the light period, and express marked diurnal acid fluctuation.

Sporophytes of Alsophila spinulosa were obtained from spore propagation agamospory and adventitious bud produced from callus by tissue culture. The morphology of prothallus is plastic. In the tissue culture, the prothallus had three forms; normal long cordate prothallium, abnormal ligulate prothallium and cylindrical prothallium, and then they could produce normal plant. When BM was a improved MS, the spore germination, filamentous growth and transition from one to two-dimensional growth, prothallium development and sporophyte differentiation etc. were influenced by sugar concentration, inorganic salts concentration, composition and proportion of hormone.

Mycelium of Ustilago esculenia P. Henn. is perennial which passes the cold winter seasons in rhizome of Zizania caduciflora Handl-Mazz. and invades the shoots developing from buds of the rhizome the next spring. Mycelium is septated, binucleate and profusely branched. Invasion of hyphae is intercellular and intracellular. No appressoria or haustoria are to be found. Cells of the parenchymatous tissue of infected portion of host plant divide rapidly with newly formed cells in great enlargement and high vacuolization which causes the shoot swelling. Part of hyphal cells with their wall transforms into mucous substance at the late stage of shoot swelling. Protoplasm of such mucoid hyphal cells con-tract into round cells, secreting thick wall and change into teliospores (chlamydospores).

Based on the theories of Tree and Spanning Tree in Graph theory, this paper selects the data of the distribution of 8 species belonging to the genus Cephalotaxus in China. By means of Graph theoretical methods of classification (that is to say Prim's method in detail), the quantitative study is carried out for the distribution of 8 species belonging to the glenus Cephalotaxus in China. The result shows that this paper is basically successful for the application of Graph theoretical method of classification in the division of the floristic elements of Ce-phalotaxus in China, and the results of this method and the classical analysis are basically unform, especially using the asymmetric information coefficients to con-stitute dissimilarity matrix.

The total amount of the net primary production in the 4-year-old stand is 530.4g/(m2 .a), the 11-year-old stand 1201.0g/(m2.a), the 23-year-old stand 1060.3 g/(m2.a). The percentages of the net production of tree layers in various layers of three stands are the greatest, herb layer second, shrub layer the smallest. The percentage of the net production of tree layer in the 11-year-old stand is the greatest, 23-year-old stand second, 4 -year-old stand the smallest; The percentages of the net production of shrub and herb layers in the 4 -year-old stand are the greatest, 23-year-old stand second, 11-year-old stand the smallest. The net production of needle is the greatest in all organs of tree layers in three stands, stem wood second.

This paper describes two new species of Boletaceae from Fujian Prov. Xerocomus anthracinus Zang, HU et Liu, it shows the blackish basidiocarps different from the other taxa in Genus Xerocomus, it has been found fruiting so-litarily under Casfanopsis hystrix A.DC. and Pinus massoniana Lamb. in Sanming, but the mycorrhizal associations and affinities of this taxon are not known. This mushroom can be easily mistaken for a Boletus when young, but is just as po-isonous. It recently caused several vomiting when after ingestion from Sauming peo-ple. The another new taxon Boletus tomentulosus Zang, Liu et Hu,it is tread here un-der Sect. Squamulistipites, it has the stature and appearance of Boletus squamuli-stipes Zang, but microscopic examination shows the larger basidiospores, 10.4- 14.3 x 5.2-5.5 am and non pleurocystidium, but the basidiospores of latter only 9-11.5 x 4-5.5 am in the meanwhile, the pileus surface has a tendency to become grossly or tomentose in age, not observed in B. squamulistipes specimens.
