Abstract: Abstract The Asian genus Mosia comprises over 20 species of which about half occurs in China. The present paper deals mainly with an analysis of the phenctic variation patterns of populations of the five species of Mosia occurring in the Yangtze Delta region using numerical taxonomic methods complemented by data of ecology, cytology and seed set after sclfing in order to evaluate the overall phonetic relationships among the species in the context of the characters used and to make some meaningful ideas concerning the phylogenetic affinities of the taxa in question.
