A STUDY ON THE CEPHALOTAXUS FORTUNEI FOREST OF XIAOLIAN MANTAIN IN NINGLANG COUNTY, YUNNAN

Abstract: Abstract Cephalotaxus fortunei is archaic and endemic tree species in China. At the same time it is important resource of medicinal plant to prevent carcimoma. It come into existence scattered growing in natural coniferous and broad-leaf mixed forests. It is meagre in the quantity resource. This paper reports the community characters and the trees of Cephalotaxus fortunei natural forest in Ninglang county of NW. Yunnan province. This forest is dispersed with the valley of Karstland and over there, occupying the altitude 2300-2500 m above sea level. There are two tree layers in Cephalotaxus fortunei community, the high tree sub-layer therein is a dominant tree layer. Cephalotaxus fortunei is all in all to predomination of the forestry plants. There are 95 species of 84 genera amang 58 families in the forest. Thus plants are mainly calciphytes and hygrophytes or mesophytes. The characteristics of the forest ecology and the plant community showed the transitional character of forests from sub-tropical to warm-temperate. In the meantime forest has better energy of natural regeneretion.
