Abstract From the crude glycoside of root of Cynanchwn forrestii Schltr, besides one known C21 steroidal glycoside-cynatratoside-B( I ), a new C21 steroidal glycoside named cynaforroside-A( I) was isolated. On the basis of its spectral and chemical evidence, the new compound was deduced as glaucogenin C 3-0-α-L-cymaropyranosyl-( 1→4 )-β-L-cymaropyranosyl-( 1→4 )-β-D-oleandropyranosidc.

Abstract A novel cardenolide ( 1 ) and five known compounds ( 2 - 6 ) were isolated from the acetone soluble fraction of the alcohol extract of rhizome of Periploca forrestii by means of column chromatography. The structures were established as 8-hydroxy-periplogenin (3β, 5β, 8β, 14β-tetrahydroxy-card-20(22) -enolide)( 1 ), periplogenin( 2 ), periplocin( 3 ), glycoside E of Periploca septum ( △5 pregnene 3β, 17α, 20α-triol-20-0-α-D-canaropyranoside) ( 4 ), daucosterol( 5 ) and ursolic acid ( 6 ) respectively on the basis of UV, IR, MS, high resolution NMR analyses and chemical evidences.

Abstract Three new diterpenoid alkaloids, named bulleyaniline A, bulleyanitine B and bulleyanitine C were obtained from the roots of Delphinium bulleyanum Forrest ex Diets. On the basis of the spectroseopic and Chemical evidence, their structures were established as ( 4 ), ( 5 ) and ( 6 ). Three known alkaloids, methy-llycaconitine ( 1 ), ajacine ( 2 ) and delsemine ( 3 ), were also isohted and identified.

Abstract The previous paper reported the isolation of eleven diterpenoid alka-loids from the title plant and the structure determination of alkaloids 1-8 . Alka-loids 9 -12 were determined, in the present report, to be 8 -deacetyl vilmorrianine A(9), talatizidine(lO), condelphine(ll) and yunaconitine(12). Alkaloid( 9 ) is a new compound and named as austroconitine B( 9 ).

Abstract Protoplasts of Morchella conica Pers were isolated from the mycelia cultured in liquid medium. The highest isolated quantity v/as 6.2×10^6 protoplasts/ 100mg·ml in mixed enzyme solution No. 2 and at 30°C tor 4.5 h in cubation. Isolated protoplasts regenerated to hyphae readily. After 18 hours of incubation hyphae grew out from the cells regenerated from the protoplasts. Following plating on solid medium regenerated isolates were obtained.

Abstract By an improved procedure, pokeweed antiviral protein (PAP-s) has been preoared from seeds of Phytolacca arnerzcona and P.acinosa respectively. Our experiment demonstrated that the characters of PAP-s from both two species were all the same. The protein is a single peptide chain with MW 30,000 and pI 8. 4 determined by SDS-PAGE and eictrofocusing on Ampholine/polycrylamide-gel plates. Edman degradation showed that N-terminal residue of PAP-s was lie. PAP-inhibits protein synthesis in a rabbit reticulocyte lysate with an ID50 of 2.6 ng/ml (8.6xl0^11 mol/l). The multiplication of poliomyclity virus type III m monkey kidney cells infected m the presence of the protein is strongly inhibited, a 98% inhibition being caused by it at a concentration of 4.17 ×lO^-8 mol/1. PAP-s has been conjugated to monoclonal antibody Wu71 to from immunotoxin specifically toxic to T-lymphocyte leukemia CEM cells.

Abstract Cinnamomum cassia Presi are all the cultivation varieties in the tropical and subtropical areas of Yunnan. Its are begining to blossom after planted four to six years. The bark cassia were cut after ten to fifteen years. The vegetative growth vary with varieties: Its grow rapidey during March to November, the grow slowly other monthes, and the flowering during May to June, the fruit ripening are from Februry to April every year. The essential oil content in the bark, the twig, the leavies, the froit of varieties with obvious variation, but chemical component not obvious variation after seven to sixteen years of varieties.

Abstract Cephalotaxus fortunei is archaic and endemic tree species in China. At the same time it is important resource of medicinal plant to prevent carcimoma. It come into existence scattered growing in natural coniferous and broad-leaf mixed forests. It is meagre in the quantity resource. This paper reports the community characters and the trees of Cephalotaxus fortunei natural forest in Ninglang county of NW. Yunnan province. This forest is dispersed with the valley of Karstland and over there, occupying the altitude 2300-2500 m above sea level. There are two tree layers in Cephalotaxus fortunei community, the high tree sub-layer therein is a dominant tree layer. Cephalotaxus fortunei is all in all to predomination of the forestry plants. There are 95 species of 84 genera amang 58 families in the forest. Thus plants are mainly calciphytes and hygrophytes or mesophytes. The characteristics of the forest ecology and the plant community showed the transitional character of forests from sub-tropical to warm-temperate. In the meantime forest has better energy of natural regeneretion.

Abstract This paper introduces the method and step of fuzzy clurtering analysis that has been used for dividing the floristic elements of Michelia of Guizhou, and the floristic elements are discussed in detail. The result shows: 1. The method of fuzzy clurtering analysis can reflect more the intrinsic character of the floristic elements than that of the conventional analysis. 2. The method of fuzzy clurtering analysis can reflect accurately the relationships among each floristic elements.

Abstract In 1987, one of the authors has been joined a mycological expedition to Western Kunlun Shan (Mountains) and Karakorum Shan (ca. 35°9'-39°80' N, 74°40'-77°10'E) led by Academia Sinica. This region is a high plateau in the world, it is interspersed by a series of snow-capped, an extremely highest Qogir Feng (Mt. K2;Godwin Austen) is situated there, it above 8611 m in elevation. In the more arid places, the number of fungal species is fewer and sometimes pure course association were observed. About 3000-3500 m alt. where extend conifers forest, several genera of Agaricales are found here and dominated by Picea sche-nkiana, especially in little wet gullies and humid, fog-exposed sites, which abound in different species of Agaricus, Lyophyllum, Leucopaxillus, Entoloma etc. The mycoflora is poor in species in the montane desert-steppe and alpine desert, this is apparently due to the quite arid contnental climate.
