Abstract: Karyotypes in eight of Paris, namely, P. fargesii, P. mairei, P. thibetica, P. dunniana, P. bashanensis, P. marmorata, P. polyphylla var. stenophylla and P. polyphylla var. chinensis, were studied. The karyotypes can be formulated as follows: P. fargesii K(2n) = 2x= 10 =6m+ 2t (SAT) + 2t+ 3bs; P. mairei K (2n) ==2x= 10=6m+ 4t+ 1bs; P. thibetica, K(2n) =2x= 10 =2m+ 4m (SAT) + 4t; P. dunniana K(2n) = 2x= 10= 6m+ 2t (SAT) + 2t3 P. bashanensis, K(2n) = 2x= 10=6m+ 4st; P. marmorata K(2n) = 2x== 10 = 6m + 4t3 P. polyphylla var. stenophylla K(2n) = 2x= 10 = 6rn+ 1st + 3t3 and P. polyphylla var. chinensis, K(2n) =2x= 10 =6m+ 4t.
