Abstract: The damping-off disease is one of the most important diseases of pine seedlings in nurseries. By using some chemical fungicides we have effectively controlled this disease, but the soil pollution problem must still be considered. We have found out several ectomycorrhizae, such as Suillus grevillei (Kl.) Sing. and Boletus sp., that may not only promote the growth of pine seed- lings but also protect them from infection of dampinq-off discase.
