In the deveLopment process of the Gastrodia elata, that the quantity of polysaccharide particles are increases along with the growth of corm and its volume are increase along with the growth of cells, up to the blossom and bear fruit, the quantity of polysaccharide particles are greatly declinesi The polysaccharide accumlate of the cells will be come to the highest eak, when the formation of inflorescence bud of Gastrodia elata and that has more marked distinction then before formation of inflorescence bud and after blossom (P <0.001). Thus, during the formation of inflorescence bud is the suitablest commodity Gastrodia elata harvest.

It is known that regarding the mushroom, Termitomyces cultivated by termites, there are two species of this genus growing on termites combs in subtropical and tropical regions from China. The termite-growing agaric, Termitomyces albuminosus (Berk.) Heim is distributed widely in different localities from southwards of Yangtze River, especially in Yunnan province. Termitomyces robustus (Beeli) Heim is a typic tropical species, which have recorded from Congo, Kenya and Nigeria of Af- rica by Heim (1951) .                         

The damping-off disease is one of the most important diseases of pine seedlings in nurseries. By using some chemical fungicides we have effectively controlled this disease, but the soil pollution problem must still be considered. We have found out several ectomycorrhizae, such as Suillus grevillei (Kl.) Sing. and Boletus sp., that may not only promote the growth of pine seed- lings but also protect them from infection of dampinq-off discase.

Species affinis I.tephrophyllae (Loesen.) S. Y. Hu, sed foliis 4- 6 cm latis, fructuum pediceliis 1 mm longis, stigmatibus capitatis differt. Arbor sempervirens, 8 m alta, trunco 20 cm diam; ramulis cillereis,angulosis, glabris, vix lenticellatis; gemmis conicis, glabris. In this paper, the author has reported two genera of Hypericaceae formerly unrecorded in Yunnan provincc. These genera are Ascyrum L.and Triadenum Raf. The former genus is characterized by the 4-merous tepals, The largwe outer sepals and persistent petals.It is represented by Ascyrum filicaule Dyer, Which is a dwarf slender p1ant inhabiting in the mountains NW-Yunnan at altitude 3000-390O m. The latter genus is characterized by the 9 stamens uniting in 3 fascicles and alternating with 3 sterile fascicles,as well as the white or pinkish petals.

Subchtaneous injection of total saponins from Psammasilene tunicoides, at a dose of 5 mg/kg, raised the paia threshold significantly (P <0.001) in the expe-riment on mouse by "Hot-Plate" method, as well as significantly lessened the fre- quency of "Writhing" response induced by 0.6%,acetic acid in mice. Psammosilene tunicoides saponins could inhibit the croton oil induced infla- mmation of the ear in mice, and the granuloma caused by cotton.In vitro, Psa- mmosilene tunicoides saponins had a definite inhibitory action on Staphyloco- ccus, Escherichia coll, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Candida albicans, Trichoph- yton tonsurans, Trichophyton gypseum, and Sporotrichum schenekii.

The ethanol extract of the root of Angelica apaensis Shan et Yuan sp.nov.afforded new furanocoumarin,apaensin(2),C17H16O6,mp.143-145℃,[α]20-D+35°(CHCL3).Structure of (2) was elucidaed as 8-methoxy pabulenol by IR,MS,PMR and CMR.CMR data of pabulenol and 8-methoxy pabulenol were summarized in (1)and (2),respectively.

Two new diterpenoids having an ent -kaurene-skeleton, glaucocalyxin A and B, have been isolated from the ethereal extract of the leaves of Rabdosia japonica (Burm. f. ) Hara var. glaucocalyx .(Maxim. ) Hara (Labiatae) collected in the Northeast 0f China. Their structures were established (7R, 14R)-ent-7, 14-dihy- droxy -(- ) -kaur-16-en-3, 15-dione (I ) and its 14-monoacetate, (II) by spec- troscopic and chemical evidences, respectively.

Marsdenia tenacissima (Roxb.) Wight et Arn. (Chinese name: Tongguang-teng) is a folk medicine for treating trachitis and antitumor in Yunnan. From the crude glucosides of th steme we isolated three new C21-steroidal compounds: tenaci- genin A(1 ), B (2 ) and C (3 ) by treatment with acid and base.
