Chemical Constituents of the Essential Oil on Amomum tsao-ko from Yunnan Province

Abstract: In this paper, 16 samples of Amomum tsao-ko Crevost et Lemairs from Yunnan Pronvince were studied. The essential oil yield of dried fruit, leaf and stem were determined. The essential oil yield of the dry fruit, leaf and stem are about 1.56%- 1.74%, and 0.085%- 0.11 %, respectively. 80 kinds of chemical constituents were identified from their essential oil, among them, 1,8-cineo1, 2-decenal, β-pinene, citral, geraniol, trans-2-undecenal are main constituents.
