Abstract: The test on differentiation of callus from the sterile seedling of Panax notoginseng (Burk) F. H. Chen was studied. The results demonstrated that the differentiation of P. notoginseng callus was obviously influenced by the different kinds of plant hormones. The MS medium containing 0.5-1.0 mg / L IBA or IAA could promote the differentiation of root, and the MS medium containing 0.5-1.0 mg / L BA could promote the differentiation of shoot. But their rates of differentiation were not very high.
