Abstract: From dried rhizome of Paris luquancnsis H. Li, a new species in Yunnan, two steroidal saponins pennogenin 3-O-α-L-arabinofuranosyl (1→4) -[α-L-rha- mnopyanosyl (1→2) ]-β-D-glucopyranoside and pennogenin 3-O-α-L-rhamnopy- anosyl (1→4) -α-L-rharnnopyranosyl (1→4) -[α-L-rhamnopranosyl- (1→2) ]-β- D-glucopyrtloside with daucosterol and α-ccdysone were isolated and identified, and the former have shown bettcr biological activity more latter.
