Abstract: Amomum villosum Lour. var. xanthioides (Wall. ex Bak.) T. L. Wu & J. chen and A. villosum Lour. are important. medicinal plants, the fruit may be used as a good medicinal material, though these plants are often fully covered with blossom, yet they bear only few fruits or even none at all. In the present paper the biological characters of flowering and fruiting of these species and their interrelationship with the surrounding are described.
