Abstract: The acid labile nature of ginsenosides, the saponins isolatid from ginseng and Sanchi-Ginseng [Panax notoginseng (Burk.)F.H. Chen]which is also a famous chinese traditional medicine, was observed on an early study on ginsenosides.ln this paper, we report that water solutions of ginseno ide Rb1, Re, RG1, and notoginsenoside R1 decomposed under the condition of heating on water bath to yield prosapogenins, which were shown to de mix-tures of C-20 epimer of ginsenoside Rg3,
