Chuan Wu (Aconitum carmichaeli Debx.) is a famous chillese drug and is also an important original materials of thc famous Fuzi. The plant was much investigated by both chinese and japanese scientists. In this communication, we have investigated the plant which was introduced by a fine variety from Sichuan and cultivated at Dali prefecture of Yunnan. To bc very intcresting we found that this plant not only changes in quantity of alkaloidal constituents but changes in quality as well in making comparison with Chuan wu cultivated at Shanxi. We also isolated neolinc, songorine and a new compound fuziline from this plant except mesaconitine, hypaconitine, and aconitine reported before.

Some oncogenic Agrobacterium strains have positive reaction of 3-ketola-ctate on DYL medium and good growth ability in YBS medium with sucrose as carbon source. Other oncogenic Agrobacterium strains have negatiye reac- tion of 3-ketolactate reaction and bad growth ability in YBS medium. Using this relation, an oncogenic Agrobacterium strain K-8 was isolated from fresh and young crown gall of peach tree with media DYL and YBS. Four oncoge- nic strains isolated from China had been determined. The strain S-1 and strain B-1 are strains of Agrobacterium tumefaciens Biotype I. The strain K-8 and strain 702 are strains of Agrobacterium tumefaciens Biotype II.

Besed upon the field survey running three times in 1972-1974, the authors have analysed stanting with the natural conditions and studied emphatically the floristic composition and characteristics of vegetationtypes, the main types of vegetations and the rule of their distribution over that region. In this paper the authors suggest some ideas and proposals in respect to the economic eva-luation and available utilization of the vegitational resources in that region All the vegetation data may provide certai scientific basis for reasonable exploitation of the regional vegetational resources.

The paper reports that growth of isolated Petunia hybrida mesophyll protoplasts cultured in eight different media was compared. The protoplasts underwent cell wall regeneration, followed by repeated cell division and developed into colonis in all used media. Calli were obtained in six kinds of these media. Both medium G composed by ourseleves and modified medium K are excellent. Their plating efficiency was raised to 56% and 70% respectively. Effect of some plant hormones on growth and differentiation of the callus was tested. Some hormone combination effected greatly on growth of the callus, Roots had differentiated from the cqlli in some media containing hormones.

The genus Trigonotis has 56 species, of which 33 with 5 varieties are from China. In the course of a systematic study of the genus the author observed three distinctive external characters of the nutlet, and used them in the demarcation of the section. All the species of Trigonotis have tetrahedral nutlets, but some of them are bifacial hemispherical tetrahedral (Fig. 1: 1-12), others are obtriangular tetrahedral (Fig. 1: 13-22), and still others are oblique obtr-iangular tetrahedral (Fig. 1, 23-32).

Sect. Benecinctae Fedde ex C.Y. Wu et T.Y. Shu is an alpine-group of genus Corydalis distribting at the adjoining region of Yunnan, Sichuan and Xizang. It is a quite natural group and differs frorn other groups of Corydalis by its own morphological characters. It was established by Fedde in 1928 (Fedde in Fedde Rep. 25:221, 1928) and afterwards fallen under the grade Subsect. Benecinctae Fedde by the same auther and belonging to his Sect. Eucorydalis Fedde (Fedde in Engler et Prantl, Natural Pflanzenfam. 17b: 134, 1936). Owing to Fedde's Section without a Latin description and some new species discovered in recent years have broken the bounds of Fedde's concept of this Section. It is necessary to rebuild the Fedde's Section and to add Latin description amplifying the contents.
