Abstract: The floral bud of primitive species Camellia reticulata Lindly F.Simlex sealy began to differentiate during the first decade or the middle decade of June. The development of male and female ganletophytes wcre all normal. The differen- tiation of cultivar C. zhangjiacha Chang's was two months later than the primitive species, the stamen development was abnormal, its filament and anther could integrate partially or wholly with the style, petals and ovary wall. The development of male gametophyte got restrained or blocked, because ovary wall was badly crimpy.Development of the cmbryo sac of C. reticulata L. is bisp-oric, eightnucleate, allium type. In this paper, the difference and similarities between the development of female gametophyte in C.reticulata L.and that in C.oleosa and C.sasanqua have been disscussed.
