Abstract

Abstract: Malania oleifera Chun et Lee is distributed in the Southeast of Yunnan, the results for quantitative analysis and identification of the oil contents are given in tables 1, 2. This paper deals mainly with the isolation and identification of the cis- Tetracos-15-enoic in the kernel oil of Malania oleifera. The oil contains 67% cis-Tetracos-15-enoic which gives pelargonic acid and pentadecanedioic acid when it is oxidized.It can be therfore used in synthesis of racemic muscone.
