This present paper deals with a new species and a new record of the genus Albugo reported. The specimen of Albugo eomeconis Zhang et Wang sp.nov. is parasitic on the leaves of Eomecon chionantha Hance (Papaver- aceae) from Sichuan Province. This species is closely related to Albugo macro- spora (Togashi) S.Ito., but may be distinguished from the latter by its sm-a ller conidia and parasitic on Papaveraceae, not on Cruciferae. The type specimen that is described and discussed ill this paper is deposited in the Her- barium of Agricultural University of Yunnan. The another species new to China, Albugo capparidis (de Bary) Cif. parasitic on the leaves, stems and fruits of Cleome gynandra L. and Cleome viscosa L. (Capparidaceae). They are dis- tributed in Yunnan and Guangxi Province.

Recently, we have identified two ligneous specimens collected from Lan- tsang Xian, Sonthern Yunnan (o and fr., alt. 1080 m.tree, Dec. 24, 1978. coll. ign. 50), which are disposed in the Herbarium of Yunnan College of Silviculture, Kunming. These two specimens all belong to Trigonobalanus doi- changensis (A. Camus) Forman of Fagaceae. The genus Trigonobalanus Forman is not only as a new recorded genus in Chinese flora, but also as a key-genus in the phylogeny of that family.

Basing on the observation on and comparison between the development of normal and abortive embryos. The author has paying attention to different cases of supplying nutrient to the embryo and accuinulating nutritive substances in embryo, the present paper deals with problem about embryo's abortion in Niger seeds. The normal development of embryo after fertilization essentially depends on the sufficient supply of carbohydrates from their surrounding tissues, while the abortion of embryo is related to the short supply of carbohydrates.

The analgesic experiments were made on rats by the thermal stimulating-tail method, on mouse by "Hot-plate" method. Intraperitoneal injection of total saponins extracted from Panax notoginseng, at a dose of 400 mg/kg in rat, of 100mg/kg in mice, ralsed the pain threshold significantly (p<0.01). In the experiment on mouse by "Hot-plate" method, there was a synergistic action between San Chi saponins and morphine. In addition, San Chi saponins admi-nistered intrsmuscularly at a dosage of 100mg/kg significantly lessened the frequency of "Writhing" response induced by 0.6% acetic acid in mice, at a dosage of 200mg/kg, lessened the numder of "writhing" mouse (p<0.001), and the analgesic rate was 7356.

Malania oleifera Chun et Lee is distributed in the Southeast of Yunnan, the results for quantitative analysis and identification of the oil contents are given in tables 1, 2. This paper deals mainly with the isolation and identification of the cis- Tetracos-15-enoic in the kernel oil of Malania oleifera. The oil contains 67% cis-Tetracos-15-enoic which gives pelargonic acid and pentadecanedioic acid when it is oxidized. It can be therfore used in synthesis of racemic muscone.

The effect of plant hormones on the regulating direction of differentiation and organogenesis from explant were studied by using young panicIes of haploid rice. A concensration of 2 mg/l showed the results that 2, 4 -D induced callus formation, NAA induced root formation greatly, KT inhibited callus formation and organ differentiation. KT (2mg/l ) +NAA (2mg/l ) did not induce callus tissue but a great number of plantlets differentiated from explant directly. When KT/NAA=2:2, the differentiation percentage of plantlets was higher, being 76%. The tests of different concentrations of 2, 4 -D showed that the concentration of 2 or 4 mg/l induced callus formation up to 94%. Callus subculture on solid and liquid media showed when the lower concentration of 2, 4 -D (0.5-1.0mg/l ) were added with KT (0.1mg/l ), callus grew sturdy and redifferentiation was better. Albino plantlets which regenerated from haploid rice somatic explant were very few. Possibility of using calli-clones to the study of mutant and somatic genetices was discussed. With regard to the callus redifferentiation, not only kinetin is needed, but also the effect of auxin concen-tration of the induction medium is also remarkable.

The induction of wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) pollen plant using simplified culture medium of Sechium edue (Jacg.) Sw. (table 1.) was studied For inducing callus, the simplified culture medium of potatot (abbr."potato") was used as the control midium. For inducing differentiating plantlets, we used the culture medium, MS + IAA 0.5mg/l+kinetin 2mg/1 (abbr. "MS" ) as the cohtrol medium. In inducing callus, the inducing frequencies of the two media, "potato"and "chayote + kinetin",were found to be different with different material (table 2, table 3.) .In many material, inducing frequency of "potato" is higher. However, when induced callus from the two culture media were transferred to differentiation culture medium "MS", more albino plants were differentiated; in the former and more green plants in the latter. It is noteworthy that the frequency of induced callus in "chayote" culture medium is higher than in "chayote + kinetin" (table 3).

The genus Rhododendron plays an important role in the Xizang floristic and vegetational formation. There are over 170 species (not including subspecies , and varieties). It stands first on the list of the largest genera of the Tibetan Angiosperms. The abundance of its species is next to that of Yunnan only. The species of Rhododendron in Xizang belong to 2 subgenera: 1. Subgen. Hymenanthes may be classified into 22 subsections 17 of which are found in Xizang. 2. Subgen, Rhododendron, out of a total of 34 subsections 22 are found in Xizang.

The systematical evolution of genus Meconopsis, first of all, depends upon the alternation of environmental conditions from a low altitude to a higher altitude, from tlie habitats under the forests to meadows and even to alpine desetrs. Corresponding to these systematical alternatione they change mor-phologically from branched stems to ullbranched stems and fiually, to no stem at all, from panicles to brateate raceme to bractless raceme and finally. to simple flowered basal scapes. This amply reveals the dialectic unity between plants and environments in the long-term historical development.

The family Stachyuraceae is monotypic, consisting of only Genus Stachyurus, which is confined to the temperate regions of eastern Asia. This genus comprises 16 species and 8 varieties, of which 11 species and 7 varieties (including 2 new species and 4 new varieties) occurring in China. The family may be originated in the ancient Sikang-Yunnan tableland, from which they spread out, extending westward into Burma, India (Assam), Nepal and Bhutan, and extending eastward through southwestern and southern China, Taiwan of eastern China to Ryukyu Islands and Japan.
