The content of unsaponifiable material in seed oil of Microula sikkimensis Hemsl. isO. 6. Triterpene alcohols and sterols were separated from unsaponifiables. Four triterpene alcohols (P-amyrin, lupeol,cycloartenol and 24-methylene-cycloartanol) and eleven sterols(cholesterol, cholest-7-enol, campesterol, 24-methylcholest-7-enol, P-sitosterol, 22-dihydrospinasterol, brassicasterol, stigmasterol, fucosterol, A^avenasterol and 7,24 (28) ergostadienol) were identified.

The triglycerides from four varieties of Mangifera indica were determined by means of pancreatic lipase hyorolysis technigue and were compared with cocoa butter. The analysis results are as follows: Mango fats are composed of 15-21 kinds of trigly-cerides, of which the oleic acid in 2-position is 87%-91%(The content in cocoa butter is 87%) . The fat acids in 1, 3-position are mainly stearic and palmitic acids, among these, SOS is 34-49% (25% in cocoa butter) , POS is 13-14% (36% in cocoa butter) . In ad-dition, the proportion of monosaturaed glyceridesis is 19- 28% ( 8% in cocoa butter) ;triun-saturaed glycerides is 1.0-4.0%. Analysis results show that the compositions of four kinds of mango fats are close to those of cocoa butter.

Two diterpcnoids were isolated from the leaves of Rabdosia calcicolus var. subcaluus Hand. -Mazz. Weisiensin A is a known compound, its structure should be co-rrected to 3(3, 6a-dihydroxy-la, 7(3, llp"triacetoxy-ent-kaur-16-cn~15-onc by spectro-scopic and chemical evidences. Calcicolin A is a new diterpenoid, its structure was esta-blished as 3(3-hydroxy-lcc,6a,7[3, ll|3-tetraacetoxy-ent-kaur-16-cn-15-one ( 1 ) on the basis of spectral data.

From the root of Cynanchum auriculatum Royle ex Wight, besides four kno-wn glycosides--wilfosideC3N (II) , C1N (II) , CiG (III) , K1N (V) , three new Czi steroid glycosides named cynauricuricuoside A (VI) ,B (VII) ,C (IV)]p were isolated.

Celastrus angulatus Max. is a singnificant insecticidal plant dispersed widely over our country. For its antifeeding value , the roots have been stuied chemically as a result of some new sesquiterpene polyster[1,2].The bioactive tests of its seed oil showed highly antifeedant effect on pieris rapae, Aulacophora femoralis,Henosepilachna,Vigintioctopunctata, Locastra muscosalis, colaphllus bowringi and Calospilos suspecta[3,4].In this continuing communication we report eight new sesquiterpene polyesters (1-8)isolated from the seeds of the plant by means of distrbution and chromatography. Their structuret have been characterized by spectroscopic and chemical methods and relate to dihydro-β-agarofuran skeleton as follows.

The paddy rice in the field experiment, grown at three different altitude localities, viz. Yuanjiang (north tropic type about 400 m altitude) , Yuxi (middle subtr-opic type about 1600 m altitude) and Dali (north subtropics type about 2000 m altitude) in Yunnan provice in 1988, had been fed with the 14C during the booting and the grain filling stage, respectively.All the samples had been collected at the yellow ripe stage.

In this paper the authors report on the biological characteristics of Al-sophila spinulosa (Hook.) Tryon. The reasons of endangering of this plant as follows: The life of the spores is too more short and the spores are very difficult to germinate. The biocycle from spore-prothallus-sporophyte is too long. They are very difficult to resist and tolerate adverse factors in variousenvironment.It needs a strict habitat for spore germination gamete differentiation and embryogenesis. Therefore the distribution region is highly limited. And it is most suitable for Alsophila spinulosa to exist in the worm and humid tropical and subtropical forest under the contemporary climatic condition.

This paper introduces some methods and principles of the numerical analysis that has been used for the statistics of basic elements, division of geographical ele-ments and regionalization of flora. The methods of the numerical analysis of flora have the merits of strictness of analysis, simplicity of calculation and intuition of resulf, and that can reflect more the intrinsic character of flora than the classical mclhoJs.

The present paper describes the pollen morphology and related characters of 8 material of L.sinense, L. sinense cv.Chuanxiong and L.sinense cv.Fuxiong. In cont-rast with L. sinense, L. sinense cv. Chuanxiong and L. sinense cv. Fuxiong manifest great variation in pollen morphology, yet still retaiji the basic character of rectangular type and they are much similar to L. sinense in other related characters. Therefore, pollen morphology supports the treatment of regarding L. sinense cv. Chuanxiong and L. sinense cv. Fuxiong as cultivated varieties of L. sinense.

Forty three species, 2 varieties of the genus Agaricus are reported. Among them, Agaricus squarrosus Li. sp. nov. , A. dimorphosquamatus Li. sp. nov. and A. lepiotiformis Li. sp. nov. are new to science, and sixteen species are new records to China. A key of all taxa has been provided. All the specimens cited above deposi-ted in the Mycological Herbarium of Institute of Microbiology, Academia Sinica, Beijing (HMAS) .

Morphological and cytological studies of three Roegneria species and their artificial hybrids were carried out on R. pendulina Nevski (2n== 4x=28) , jR. ciliaris(Trin. ) Nevski (2n=.4x=28) and I?, kamoji Ohwi (2n= 6x=42) .

Affinis C.oniei Franch., quac foliis plants, utriculis demum divaricatis, bre-viter stipitatis, brcvirostris differt.

According to the morphological characters of the genus Mollugo L. Such as; the capsular dehiscence, the appendage of seed present or not, the types of inflorescens, the number of stamen, and the shape of leaf, types of pubescence, the author reassumes that there are two species out of the eight species in China which are different from the others. Therefore, it is necessary to restore in China the genus GUnus L. which was es-tablished by Linaeus in 1753. Besides, the paper provided a key of these two genera and eight species, with two new record species and tentative map of geographic distribution mainly in China.

The generic limits of Cylindrokelupha Kosterm. (Mimosaceae) is briefly discussed. The genus Cylindrokelupha has characteristic and stable features, such as cylindric or subcylindric and straight pods -with thick valves and bigger seeds, the cylindric or subcy-lindric and turbinate-truncate seeds occupying the entire cavity of the pod etc. It is not proper to merge the genus into another (such as Archidendron and Albizia). A key to 10 species including ] new species (C. xichouensis C. Chen & H. Sun) and 1 new record (C. laoticum (Gagnep.) C. Chen & H. Sun) of China CyUndrokelupha is presented.
