Nine compounds, atranorin, chloratranorin, lecanoric acid, ethyl orsellinate, orsellinic acid, methyl (3-orcinolcarboxylate, divaricatinic acid, divaric-atic acid, and methyl hematommate were isolated from Parmelia tinctorum Despr. Their structures were determined by the spectral data analysis. The essential oil and concrete from P. tinctorum were analyzed individually by means of GC & GC/MS/DS. Thirty-seven compounds were identified quantita-tively and qualitatively in the concrete, the main compounds are ethyl hematommate, methyl j3-orcinolcarboxylate and ethyl orsellinate. Fortyseven compounds were det-ermined quantitatively and qualitatively in the essential oil.

Leaf sesquiterpene hydrocarbons of greenhouse-grown saplings of Hymenaea courbaril, and Co pat/era officinalis and C. pubi flora were analyzed by GC for seasonal and diurnal variation. Of the suite of essentially the same ses-quiterpenes in leaves of both genera, only the major compounds (caryophyllene and a, P-selinene) and total quantity (yield) were analyzed statistically as they were considered most likely to be of ecological significance. Diurnal variation was minimal in both Hymenaea and Copaifera during the three dates sampled. Both individual tree (genotype) and seasonal variation were different at highly significant levels for caryophyllene, sclinene and yield in both Hymenaea and Copaifera.

Cytokinin binding proteins (CB-protein) which moleculer weight are about 4400 ±100 dalton from cell of Baibaili tobacco callus was purified by affinity chromatography on benzylaminopurin-linked sephrose 4B column. There is CB-protein on cell surface, ribosome, mitochondria, chloroplast and nucleus as well as in cell sap, amount of CB-protein on ribosome is the highest among organdies. We probed into the function of CB-protein.

The cultured Dioscorea composite Hemsl. was introduced successfully by us from Mexico. This paper deals with the pattern of the growth and development of the plant in Xishuangbanna area, Yunnan province, China. The result shows the "ced germination is related with tempercture, thousandgrain v/eight and the storage. The vine begins to grow quickly and the seedlings can be transplanted to field at sixty day after sowing. Flowing and fruiting in a year after transplant. The plant is evergreen, and has two flowing seasons in per year.

The consociation Anogeissus acuminata distributed in Xiao Ganlanba district of south Yunnan is reported in detail in this present paper. The consociation is a secondary community with the characters of monsoon forests in phenophase and synusia. The original vegetation in the district is a mixed deciduous monsoon forest and the tree Anogeissus acuminata once existed in the forest as an usual component as it is now in the same type of forest in India and Burma. With the destruction of original vegetation the tree Anogeissus acuminata luxuriates and consequently the consociation forms and develops.

The cytological observations on 10 genera, 52 species and 370 colle-ctions within the tribe Triticeae Dumortier in Xinjiang, Qinghai, Sichuan etc. were made in the present paper. The range of chromosome numbers varied from 2n=14 which was mainly found in most species of genus Hordeum and all species of genus Psathyrostachys and Secale, to 2n=84 which was only observed in genus Leymiis. The collections with chromosome, of 2n=28 and 2n=42 were highly presented in the above mentioned areas. The species with chromosome number or 28 and 42 were mostly found in genera Roegneria and Elymiis. Except a few species in which different polyploidy types were found, most species were very stable in chromosome number. No aneuploid or B-chromosome was,, observed in all the collections.

Traditional knowledge and experience of Mongolians in utilizing plants for ,tea, is mainly expressed in the selection of plants, the part which is used, collection, processing and the drinking method. According to the preliminary study,' there are 20 spscies of plants that used as traditional tea, the parts used are roots, stems, leaves, flowers, fruits and seeds, and those are mostly collected in fall,' there are also some species which are collected in spring, summer or winter, the processing methods are fermentation, steaming, frying, drying in the sunshine and drying in dark, they are used in cooking, infusing for tea and used for milk tea. The knowledge and experience of Mongolians in utilizing plants for tea has important meaning in creating new beverages, particularly in exploiting plant resourses of the northern minority g,reas.

This paper mainly deals with the investigation on the species of the genus Corydalis collected from Zhejiang and nearby areas (Jiangsu, Anhui, Jiangxi, Fujian, Taiwan and Shandong). Eighteen species, five varieties and one form are recorded. Two new varieties, C. repens var. humosoides and C. pallida var. zhejiangensis, are described, one variety is raised up as the specks, two varieties are reduced to the synonymy, and one species, name is revised. C. repens^ C. racemosa and C. balansae are discussed. In addition, an enumeration including distributions and ten photographs by SEM are given.
