CYTOGEOGRAPHY AND PHYLOGENY OF LILIEAE

Abstract:

Nomocharis, Notholirion and Cardiocrinum, in a narrow sense, are three new -born genera of Liliaceae. Their chromosome number: 2n=24. All are diploids.11) Period of Origin: Cardiocrinum, originated in the late Miocene Epoch, Nomocharis, originated in the Pliocene Epoch or later and Notholirion, originated after the Pleistocene Epoch, are monocotyledons appeared in the late Cenozoic Ere.
