Lysimachia microcarpa has a rich and long-lasting odor.which is also used as a raw ma-terial to extract Lysimachia concrete. There are 106 compounds were identified qualitatively and quantitatively in the essential oils from this plant by means of GC and GC / MS analyses. The re-sults showed that aldehydes.alcohol and acids are main constituents and lauric acid.bomeol and hexahydrofarnesyi acetone are main compounds in the essential oils.

Based on sample plot investigation to Bombax ceiba forest in Monghan basin of Xishuangbanna, Yunnan, a report on the forest in detail is presented in the paper. The forest oc-curs along the Lancang River (upper Mekong) at the alluvial soft soil. With only one tree layer and a indentical physiognomy, as well as lower species riches, the forest is a secondary forest with single dominant tree species Bombax ceiba. It is concluded that the forest could form from gregation of Bombax ceiba at the alluvial soft soil and with collapse and reconstruction of the al-luvial soft riverstep old the forest falls apart and new one appears on new riverstep again.

In this paper the meiosis of 9 species in genus Camellia were studied . C. chrysantha, C. impressinervis, C. pitardii var. pitardii, C. albovilosa and two population of C. saluenensis from Jindian of Kunming and Hekou of Baoshan, Yunnan formed 15 bivalents at metaphase I; C. pitardii var. yunnanica, c. yuhsienensis and five red-flowered populations of C. reticulata from Yunhua of Tengchong formed 45 bivalents at metaphase I. All of these species or populations mentioned above were pure, and might be used as the appropriate materials for purpose of breed-ing by crossing.

Exine sculpture of pollen grains is the distinctive and reliable character to classify the two species of Liriodendron L.i.e., L. chinense with foveolate-reticulate sculpture and L. tulipifera with rugulate-verrucate sculpture. According to the evolution of pollen sculpture, the foveolate-reticulate pollen of L. chinense is more primitive than the rugulate-verrucate pollen of L. tulipifera. Ultrastructure of pollen wall shows that the tectate-columellae pollen of Liriodendron is rarer structure type within Magnoliaceae and is more advanced than the atectate type and tectate-granular structural type of most taxa of Magnoliaceae. Palynology supports to treat the genus Liriodendron as a subfamily.

Ten species of the genus Heterochaete Pat. collected from Yunnan area of China are re-ported in this paper. Among them, Heterochaete simaoensis Hu et J. Z. Li sp. nov. is new to sci-ence, H. cretacea Pat., H. sanctae-catharinae Moller and H. shearii (Burt) Burt are new records to China. A key of all taxa has been provided. All the specimens cited above are deposited in the Mycological Herbarium of Hunan Normal University, Changsha (MHHNU), except a few of H. discolor Fetch and H. sinensis Teng in the Mycological Herbarium of Institute of Microbiology, Academia Sinica, Beijing (HMAS). The new species is closed to H. delicata Pat. In certain ways, but the spores and the basidia are smaller, the pegs are slenderer and the fructifications are thinner.

Pollen morphology of 18 species of the genus Calligonum (Polygonaceae) from China was examined under the light microscope (LM) and scanning electron microscope (SEM). It is found that the pollen morphology of Calligonum is rather similar in shape, size, position and number of aperture, and exine sculpture.

Papaveraceae is a more primitive family in the midst of angiosperm on the system, and a typical family in the north temperate zone on the floristic geography. There are 38 genera about 700 species in total. According to the evolutionary tendency of the main organs (gynoecium, androecium, perianth, fruit and seed), the taxonomic system of under family was recombined. They are di-vided into 3 subfamilies and 8 tribes.

The genus Mastixia Bl. of China is revised in the present paper. The name Mastixia caudatilimba C.Y.Wu ex Soong is considered as a synonym of Mastixia euonymoides Prain. The species M. alternifolia Merr. et Chun in T.P.Song's work (1982) is evidently conspecific with M. cambodiana Pierre and the fore combination name M.pentandra Bl. ssp. cambodiana (Pierre) Matthew (1976) is accepted as the reasonable one. Furthermore, the species M. chinensis Merr. in T.P. Song's work is also restored to subspecific rank as M.pentandra Bl. subsp.chinensis (Merr.) Matthew (1976).
