A nwe aristoloactam alkaloid, 7-methoxyaristololactamIV (1) together with l,2,3,4-tetramethoxy-5-allyl benzene (2),β-sitosterol(3), daucosterol(4) and apiole(5) were iso-lated from Asarum petelotii, they were identified by spectra data analysis. It noted that the aristololactam alkaloid was first time obtained from the genus Asarum. By means of GC& GC/MS, the essential oils individually from leaves and roots were seperatively analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively.

This paper examines the effects of N03-N and NH4+ -N at concentration ranging from 1 to lOmmol/L on growth and development of Cymbidium sinense (Andr.) Willd. grown in soilless medium. N03-N and NH4+ -N at 1 mmol / L enhanced leaf growth at similar rate, but 50 mmol / L NH4+ -N sharply reduced the leaf growth rate. Flower buds and flowers could be formed normally by plant treated with NO3- -N at 1 and 10 mmol / L except 50 mmol / L. However, there was without folwer bud in all NH4+ -N treatments. We suggested that N03-N or NH4+ -N at low concentration should be applied in vegetative stage, and only N03-N at 1-lOmmol/L is favorable for the differentiation of flower bud during reproductive stage. It is considered that the slow growth of C. sinense may be caused by its lower photosynthetic rate and nitrate reductase ac-tivity, and the flowering of this plant is perhaps determined by C / N ratio.

The spores of 26 species of Scet. Metapolystichum(Polystichum) in China have been studied under LM and SEM. The results show that the spores are monolate, elliptic in polar view, reniform in equatorial view, all with perines, (24.3-45.6) x (28.2-61.4) x (24.3-57.1)/xm in size. The perine sculptures of 26 species almost are different from one another and can be divided into 6 types: scabrate, wing-like, cristate, verrucate, foveolate and reticulate.

It has been demonstrated from our study that the preparations of free cells, thylakoid menbranes and PSII particles of the blue-green algae Spirulina maxima cultured under normal temperature all kept a great deal of O2-evolving activities. Meanwhile, the O2-evolving activities were increased along with the pruification of these preparation. The presence of Ca2+ in the isola-tion medium was essential to photosynthetic O2-evolution. SDS-PAGE profile indicated that the PSII particles contained 12 polypeptides, hence the composition of PSII polypeptides was more complicated than that of higher plant. The result of experiments of salt-treatment and polypeptides recomstitution suggested that the 55, 50, 26kD polypeptides were closely related to the extrinsic 02-evolving protein of PSII, especially the 55, 26kD polypeptides were essential to photosythetic 02-evolution.

The pollen of Crypteroniceae was examined with LM, SEM and TEM, and a compari-son was made between Crypteronia and the other four related genera: Axinandra, Dactylocladus, Rhynchocalyx and Alzatea The result showed that the pollen grains of Crypteronia are different remarkablly from those of other four genera by having elliptic shape in polar view and nearly tetragonal shape in equatorial view, dicolporate, syncolpate, with two endoapertures situated at the opposite ends of the long equatorial axis, the pollen wall consists of thick endexine(2.5-3um) and very thin foot layer (less than 1 um) in Crypteronia. The pollen grains of Axinandra, Dactylocladus and Rhynchocalyx are round dexangular shape in polar view, 3-colporate and 3-pseudocolpi, while the pollen in Alzatea is round triangular shape in polat view, 3-colporate.

It was found that a few cells progress meiosis in an anther callus culture of Camellia petelotii (Merr.)Sealy cultured and subcultured for 6 months. The pairing and segregating of homologous chromosomes at the frist and second division of meiosis were conformed with PMC meiosis, and finally, the tetrad were formation. Basec on the analysis of chromosomal morphology and behavior, it was considered as a special somatic meiosis. The speciality and significance of this somatic meiosis were analyzed and discussed. Observation on preparations made with paraffin sectioning and squashing showed that callus clumps composed of some meristematic cell groups, a large quantity of vaculated cells and storge cells, without further differentiation. About 71.1 percent of cells in this callus clumps showed the chromosome number 2n = 30, and the rest cells were aneuploid.

The genus Campanella Henn. is reported from China for the frist time. Two species have been found in tropical and subtropical areas of Southern and Southeastern Yunnan of China. Among them, C. straminea P. G. Liu is a new species, which distinctive character is cheilocystidia provided with capitulate or variform protuberances at the apex; C. cucullata (Jungh.) Lloyd, which mainly distributes in Southeastern Asia and adjacent areas, is new to China. The new species described with latin and the new to China are illustrated in the paper. This paper also discusses the problems of nomenclature on the genus and deals with its geographic distribu-tion as well as the origins; the author suggest that name of the genus Campanella Henn. is valid, it is a pantropic genus and may be originated from tropic areas although a few species distributed in the temperture zones of the Southern and Northern hemispheres.

There are two big biodiversity centres of Chinese endemic genera of seed plants in Yunnan province: NW Yunnan & SW Yunnan. According to preliminary statistics, the NW Yunnan centre has 47 Chinese endemic genera (belonging to 27 families, among them 19 genera are of monotypic ones, 22 of oligotypic ones and 6 of polytypic ones) which are mainly of temper-ate nature; the SW Yunnan centre has 48 Chinese endemic genera (belonging to 36 families, among them 33 genera are of monotypic ones, 13 of oligotypec ones and 6 of polytypic ones) which are mainly of tropical and subtropical nature. There are 11 Chinese endemic genera which are common to both centres, but 36 genera are only occuring in the former centre and 37 genera are only occuring in the latter centre. The origin cause of these genera in both centres is very dif-ferent. In the former centre it is mainly of ecological reason rather than historical one; but in the latter centre it is mainly of historical reason rather than ecological one. Thus the former centre is mainly of neoendemism, but the latter centre is mainly ofpalaeoendemism.

The bio-diversity of endemic genera may present the endemism in a certain flora and is the foundation of conservation of bio-resources, especially metaplasm resources. Based on Flora of China and her Provinces and fijeld survey, after statistics and analysis, the paper deals with the bio-diversity and characters of genera endemic to China different scale and concludes as follows.
